A mile to the south in Virginia, VA 110 meets I-395 and US 1 at the interchange where they split. VA 110 ends as its mainline becomes US 1 south. A loop ramp leads to the overpass shown here, and the I-395/US 1 duplex begins on its way to the north (left in this photo).

The I-395/US 1 duplex crosses the Potomac River to East Potomac Park. There I-395 north and US 1 north split, and US 1 north becomes 14th Street.

An overhead guide sign shows the lane configuration of the upcoming split. While the northbound duplex splits at this upcoming exit, the southbound duplex begins farther north at 9th Street.
