Westbound on Alternate US 40 heading toward Frostburg. MD 36 joins from meeting I-68/US 40 to the south.

Westbound heading through town. MD 36 used to meet Alternate US 40 here, but was relocated to a bypass east of town. The old MD 36 was renumbered MD 936. Before I-68 was built, US 40 ran where Alternate US 40 now runs, so this intersection may have been the eastern split of US 40/MD 36.
