Business US 1(N-S)/MD 924(N-S) Duplex

Business US Route 1 and Maryland Route 924 join for a 0.57-mile same-way duplex through Bel Air in Harford County.

Both Business US 1 and MD 924 follow two one-way streets through Bel Air, meeting at a right angle and then merging onto the N-S streets. Here Business US 1 northbound (black on white shield with BUSINESS banner) turns left onto MD 924 northbound. MD 22 begins straight ahead.

Closer to the intersection, MD 924 and Business US 1 are signed at opposite corners of the intersection.

At the same intersection, the Business US 1 sign is green-on-white with BUSINESS inside the shield. The first reassurance shield for MD 22 eastbound can be seen.

Around the bend, a white-on-green reassurance shield stands for Business US 1 along the duplex. The corresponding MD 924 reassurance shield is at the next block and on the other side of the street, far from this shield.

At the next E-W street to the north, MD 22 westbound ends at Business US 1/MD 924.

After meeting the northbound duplex, signs are posted at the next block for the southbound duplex. This is the last block of MD 22, and since that route has already crossed the northbound duplex, the JCT above the overheard MD 924 sign should read SOUTH.

Half a mile to the north, the duplex rejoins on a single roadway, and Business US 1 splits off from MD 924 at the northern split.
