Maryland Routes 3 and 450 join for 0.50 miles near Crofton in Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties

MD 450 joins MD 3 on what is left of MD 3 after US 301 and I-97 took up most of its roadway. MD 450 is the Defense Highway to the east and leads straight to Annapolis. Curiously, MD 450 west is Annapolis Road.

Half a mile to the south, MD 450 heads west. MD 450 parllels US 50 almost all the way from Washington, DC, to Annapolis.

The southern split. MD 3 continues south for about two more miles before ending at I-595/US 50/US 301.

MD 450 east makes a left turn onto MD 3 north at the southern split. I do not know why the two arrows do not point in the exact same direction.
