US Route 1 and Maryland Route 24 join for a 1.54-mile same-way duplex west of Bel Air to Frogtown in Harford County.

On the other side of the interchange, MD 924 becomes MD 24 northbound, and the US 1/MD 24 duplex begins with the onramp to the left.

Facing in the opposite direction, MD 24 leaves its mainline to join US 1. The mainline becomes MD 924 southbound, heading toward Bel Air, which is home to Business US 1/MD 924. Before the US 1/MD 24 bypasses were built, Business US 1/MD 924 was US 1/MD 24.
