Alternate US 220(N-S)/PA 150(N-S) Duplex

United States Alternate Route 220 and Pennsylvania Route 150 join for about 1 mile from just north of Milesburg to I-80 in Centre County.

The offramp loops around to here, where the first reassurance shields are posted. The overpasses carry I-80/Alternate US 220.

Just south of the I-80 overpasses, the interstate dumps Alternate US 220 traffic onto PA 150 here.

The duplex meets PA 144 about a mile south of I-80. The three routes form three duplexes that meet at this partial-cloverleaf interchange. The Alternate US 220/PA 144 duplex begins ahead, while the overpass carries PA 144/PA 150 toward Milesburg.

Northbound on PA 144/PA 150 at the same interchange. Rather than replacing the sign from the US 220 days, ALTERNATE banners were attached.

Now northbound on Alternate US 220/PA 150 and nearing the I-80 interchange. Another ALT tab was added here to note the change from US 220 to Alternate US 220 (left photo). Then the sign was replaced with a sign goof. I-80 travels east with Alternate US 220 north, not west. Another oddity is that this new sign appeared well after US 220 was changed to Alternate US 220, but ALT was added above the sign again instead of included in the main sign.

The northern split. Alternate US 220 turns left onto an onramp to I-80 and loops back across the road from left to right ahead. PA 150 continues ahead on the pre-I-80 alignment of US 220 (Old PA 64).
