I-86(E-W)/Old PA 17(E-W) Duplex

I-86 and the northern section of PA 17 used to join for a 7 mile same-way duplex from NY/PA state line to I-90 in Erie County.

Here is the eastern end of Old PA 17 and the western end of NY 17, both along I-86. PA 17 was the old designation for PA's Super-2 expressway and later 4-lane freeway that became I-86 on Dec. 3, 1999. This is the westward view crossing the state line from NY to PA.

During the transition period, both I-86 and PA 17 were signed. The PA 17 signs were later taken down.
