Old US 15(N-S)/Old PA 14(N-S) DuplexUS 15 and PA 14 used to join for a 14-mile same-way duplex from Trout Run to Williamsport.
Decades ago, PA 14 extended well south from Trout Run (at Old US 15) south to US 22/US 322 along the east shore of the West Branch Susquehanna River and the Susquehanna River. Old PA 14 followed Old US 15 to Williamsport, and the two routes split for Montoursville (Old US 220/Old PA 14) and South Williamsport (US 15). This view shows the northern split in Trout Run. Here Old PA 14 joins Old US 15 southbound (heading left).
From the south, the two routes split here in Trout Run, US 15 on the left, PA 14 on the right.
Today, Old US 15 has been bypassed with the US 15 expressway, built in the mid 1990s. A rebuilt version of the two-lane US 15 parallels it here. PA 14 southbound ends here as the road becomes an onramp to the expressway.
