The road quality in this duplex is similar to many of the earlier back roads in Pennsylvania. There are no shoulders, but at least a double yellow line demarcates the lanes on this windy road. Here at the western split, PA 231 veers off to the north to a duplex with PA 844, while PA 331 continues westward into West Virginia to become WV 67.
