Not too far to the east is McAlevys Fort. PA 26 and PA 305 split at the
east end of town, just ahead.

These signs stand at the eastern split, facing PA 26 northbound and PA
305 eastbound traffic. The view is from PA 305 westbound. PA 305 eastbound
ends in Belleville south of Greenwood Furnace State Park. There are four
little white signs to mark the eastern split of the duplex.

Timothy Reichard 1/20/02
A close-up of the little white signs shows the segments that begin at
this intersection and head in the three directions. The top sign, which
reads SR 0305 END, is fairly uncommon. The END refers to the end of the
SR 0305 segment. When two state routes merge into a duplex, the SR number
is the lower of the two route numbers. SR 26 follows PA 26 north and south
of the duplex and through the duplex, whereas SR 305 follows PA 305 only
to the east and west of the duplex, "END"ing at each of the
splits.

Southbound on PA 26 at the eastern split. PA 26 must stop here before joining the duplex to the right.

One mile to the west, the two routes split in Ennisville. PA 305 continues westward toward US 22 in Alexandria, while PA 26 heads southwestward to Huntingdon.

Timothy Reichard 12/27/04
PA 26 north must stop at the western split, too. A right turn ahead begins the duplex.

Timothy Reichard 12/27/04
PA 305 is 17 miles from its western end at this point. PA 26 is about the same distance from State College.
