In Pine Grove Mills, the two routes split as they continue toward the two towns of Water Street and Huntingdon, both of which are along US 22.

PA 45 east sees this view of the western split. PA 26 enters Seven Mountains to the right, as the only reasonable alternative to eastbound US 322 toward Lewistown.

A left turn onto PA 45 leads to a trio of duplexes with its truck route. A right turn onto the PA 26/PA 45 duplex leads to the two towns bypassed by the Mount Nittany Expressway: State College via PA 26 and Boalsburg via PA 45 . Note the old and new PA 45 shields here.
