in Somerset County.

PA 31 east meets PA 281 and uses two one-way streets in Somerset.
At the western edge of town, PA 31 turns south from Main Street for
a block to meet PA 281 here at Tayman Avenue.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
More signs at the same intersection. PA 31 turns left onto Tayman
Avenue/PA 281, and the duplex begins.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
Tayman Avenue becomes one-way Patriot Street.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
There are lots of reassurance signs along Patriot Street for PA 31/PA
281 as well as trailblazers for US 219, which bypasses Somerset to
the east.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
At Center Avenue, Patriot Street is one block south of PA 601's southern
end, which ends on Main Street/PA 31 west/PA 281 south. Trucks are
urged to continue to the east end of town to reach PA 601 rather than
going through the center of town.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
The eastern split is around the next bend, and overhead signs indicate
the upcoming lane designations.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
At the eastern end of town, PA 31 east/PA 281 north turns left onto
Pleasant Avenue to return to Main Street.

Timothy Reichard 6/22/03
One block to the north, PA 31 east resumes following Main Street,
while PA 281 splits to the north. Each route leads to a US 219 interchange
to the east.
