PA 54 and PA 642 join for a half-mile, same-way duplex near Mausdale
in Montour County.

PA 54 follows Continental Boulevard, a rural, four-lane, divided highway
linking US 11 and I-80 and useful for getting to I-80 eastbound by bypassing
Bloomsburg on US 11. PA 642 joins for less than half a mile.

Just ahead, PA 642 splits off to the west. The road to the right connects
to the original PA 54, just a few feet off the edge of the photo.

duplex does not stop.

Signs at the same intersection, the western split. PA 54 runs concurrently
with PA 44 in Turbotville, and, until
a few years ago when the Danville river bridge was completed, PA 54 ran
concurrently with US 11 for a block in Danville.

The western split seen along PA 54 eastbound. PA 642 leads directly to
Milton along Liberty Valley Road.

A closer view of the western split. The yellow overhead lights in the
distance mark the eastern split.

Reassurance shields are absent in the eastbound direction because of
the short length of the duplex. The first shield seen shows that PA 642
soon makes a left turn.

The eastern split, where PA 642 leaves PA 54 and follows Jerseytown Road
to its unnecessary duplex with PA 44.

The PA 54/PA 642 duplex begins here, while a right turn puts you on PA
642 eastbound.
