Northbound on PA 997 in Roxbury at the western split. After crossing Conodoguinet Creek, PA 997 encounters PA 641, a road that connects the Harrisburg area with the Appalachain Mountains.

A seventh of a mile to the east, PA 997 turns north toward an exit with the Pennsylvania Turnpike, while PA 641 east leads to the PA 641/PA 696 duplex in Newburg. Beyond Newburg and Carlisle to the east, PA 641 passes through another town of Roxbury at the junction of PA 174.
