Truck US 19(N-S)/PA 51(N-S) Duplex

United States Truck Route 19 and Pennsylvania Route 51 join for two miles through southwestern Pittsburgh in Allegheny County.

Northbound on Truck US 19 at the interchange with PA 51/Saw Mill Run Boulevard. Truck US 19 turns left to join PA 51 toward I-279. This junction was upgraded from an at-grade intersection to an interchange in 1999.

Two miles to the north, Truck US 19/51 meets I-279/US 22/US 30 and US 19. Truck US 19 north splits from PA 51 north here by joining I-279 south, creates a complicated multiplex with I-279/US 19/Truck US 19 south/US 22/US 30, and loops around back to the north. US 19 joins PA 51 here toward West End.

Southbound on Truck US 19/PA 51 approaching the southern split. Truck US 19 soon turns south onto Liberty Avenue, while the second lane from the right can usually be used for both PA 51 or to access the Liberty Tunnel into downtown Pittsburgh.
