Pennsylvania Route 72 northbound joins the US 222/PA 272 southbound duplex
for a block in Lancaster in Lancaster County.

Northbound on US 222/PA 272 in northern Lancaster. US 222 follows a one-way
street to this point. The white car is on US 222 southbound, and here
the two directions of US 222 split apart to follow one-way streets through
the city. PA 272 is unsigned but implicitly follows US 222 through the
city and here. A left turn here puts you on US 222 southbound, two blocks
from PA 72.

Northbound on PA 72 in Lancaster. This one-way street parallels the one
in the previous photo but is two blocks to the west. PA 72 has an interesting
routing through Lancaster. This part of PA 72 north has no corresponding
PA 72 south, that is, PA 72 south ends at the north side of the
city while PA 72 north begins in the southern part of the city.
The street ahead is US 222/PA 272 south.

PA 72 turns left onto US 222/PA 272 south, though there are no signs
for PA 272.

Heading west on US 222/PA 272 south and PA 72 north. The triplex lasts
only a block. This photo shows the scene in 2002.

The intersection was reconstructed, and new signs went up by 2004.

After a block, PA 72 north heads right on a two-way street. To the left,
US 222/PA 272 heads south on one-way Prince Street. This intersection
is also the southern end of PA 72 south, which enters from the right and
stops here.
