US 22(E-W)/PA 764(S-N) Duplex

United States Route 22 and Pennsylvania Route 764 join for 1.5 miles through Duncansville in Blair County.

A mile to the west, Business US 220 turns left onto the old routing of US 220 to Bedford from the pre-freeway days. US 22 now heads north on PA 764, which begins here to the right, while the old, pre-freeway US 22 passed straight ahead on Old Route 22. PA 764 is signed with a "TO" banner.

A closer view of the intersection. The US 22/Business US 220 duplex begins to the right, while the US 22/PA 764 duplex begins straight ahead, though the first sign in the distance is for US 22 only.

The second set of reassurance shields northbound show both routes correctly. US 22/PA 764 is a four-lane road to accomodate traffic to and from the I-99/US 220 and US 22 freeways.

US 22/PA 764 is divided here at the US 22 connector to I-99/US 220. The connector uses the overpasses in the foreground, while the interchange of US 22 and PA 764 uses this exit and the overpasses in the distance.

From here, traffic encounters three consecutive trumpet interchanges on the way to I-99/US 220, or just the first two to continue on US 22 west: first, this interchange (US 22 & PA 764); second, US 22 runs over the overpasses in the distance to meet up with the connector (which uses the foreground overpasses) at a trumpet to the west; finally, the connector meets I-99/US 220 to the east (right) at a third trumpet.

At the trumpet interchange with US 22, the overhead signs were missing, leaving only the roadside route markers.

The same interchange as seen from US 22 east. US 22 exits the freeway to join PA 764 at a trumpet interchange, while this freeway connector turns into a trumpet interchange with I-99/US 220.
