US Routes 30 and 222 join for a half-mile, wrong-way duplex northeast of Lancaster
in Lancaster County.

Timothy Reichard 3/27/04
Eastbound on PA 23/Walnut Street in Lancaster at the interchange with the Lancaster Bypass (US 30). Walnut Street was upgraded and extended to the bypass to alleviate New Holland Pike (old PA 23) traffic into downtown Lancaster. PA 23 joins US 30 in the opposite direction here, curving around to the left after the overpass.

Three closely spaced exits at three separate interchanges are signed overheard on the bypass approaching the PA 23 duplex. The first exit is for PA 23 west into Lancaster.

Timothy Reichard 3/27/04
The onramp from the Walnut Street interchange becomes the offramp for the New Holland Pike interchange. The US 30/PA 23 duplex is essentially this lane and a similar one in the opposite direction.

Timothy Reichard 3/27/04
The diamond interchange at the New Holland Pike and the Lancaster Bypass has PA 23 west making a left to join US 30 east.

Timothy Reichard 3/27/04
Now on US 30 east at the westernmost of the two PA 23 interchanges. PA 23 once followed the New Holland Pike into Lancaster.

Timothy Reichard 3/27/04
Similar to the westerly direction, the easterly bypass (US 30 east/PA 23 west) is contained primarily to the onramp/offramp between the two PA 23 exits.
