US 40(E-W)/PA 88(N-S) Duplex

United States Route 40 and Pennsylvania Route 88 join for 1.5 miles through West Brownsville in Washington County.

US 40 westbound leaving Brownsville. Upon crossing the Monogaheloa River, the expressway meets PA 88 at an interchange. PA 88 north leads to the Old National Pike in West Brownsville and California to the north.

A mile ahead, US 40/PA 88 meets PA Turnpike 43 (Mon-Fayette Expressway) at a cloverleaf interchange, signed as typically with Exits A and B. The second exit is where PA 88 splits to the south on the partially completed Future PA Turnpike 43 freeway.
