US 422(E-W)/US 60(S-N) Duplex

 

United States Route 422 and Pennsylvania Route 60 join for two miles near New Castle in Lawrence County.

Westbound on Business US 422 at the northern split interchange of US 422/PA 60. The foreground overpass carries the lone flyover ramp in the cloverleaf interchange. The background overpass carries mainline US 422/PA 60. The New Castle bypass (US 422 and PA 60) was built back in the days of button-copy guide signs spelled-out route designations (e.g., "PA 60" instead of a keystone sign with a "60" in it).
