US 522(N-S)/PA 235(N-S) Duplex

US 522 and PA 235 form a same-way duplex for less than a mile bypassing Beaver Springs in Snyder County.

US 522 and PA 235 used to form a duplex through the streets of Beaver Springs. Later, US 522 was rerouted to bypass the town to the north, while PA 235 followed US 522 for a block at the northern split and then followed streets through town and Old US 522 as late as the mid-1980s (and maybe later?). Now, PA 235 follows the two-lane US 522 bypass north of town. Near the northern split, US 522/PA 235 crosses Beaver Creek, a tributary to Middle Creek.

The intersection is surrounded on three sides by small creeks. A tributary to Beaver Creek runs under this bridge. Northbound PA 235 splits from US 522 here.

Less than a mile to the west, the two routes meet west of Beaver Springs. The junction sign for US 522 stands with the confirmation marker, which is posted just north of the intersection with Old US 522 Road.
