US 6 and PA 155 join for a mile through Port Allegany in McKean County.

US 6 and PA 155 join and split within the borough limits of Port Allegany,
a small town that seems large in the northern tier of the state. These
signs are posted near the southern split.

Here is the southern split as seen approaching PA 155 from US 6 westbound.

A right turn onto PA 155 puts one on a bridge over the narrow Allegheny
River. Port Allegheny may be one of the few places where the two spellings
(Allegheny and Allegany) meet.

Turning around, PA 155 traffic sees these signs as the road merges with
US 6.

A mile to the north, on the other side of town, US 6 and PA 155 go their
separate ways.

From the other direction, PA 155 meets US 6 at the same intersection.
David sacrificed the right-of-way of two green lights to photograph this
northern split.
