SR Numbering Violations and Notes
Numbering Violations
- PA 3 follows SR 3037/SR 3010 (two one-way streets) and SR
3030/SR 3026 (two one-way streets) in downtown Philadelphia. SR 0003
is designated on two parallel one-way streets just south of PA 3 and
west of PA 611/SR 0291. Reason: relocation?
- US 11/PA 581 is SR 0581 rather than SR 0011. Reason: PA 581
is an expressway that may be waiting for an upgrade to I-581 status,
in which case SR 0581 would be the correct designation. See also US

- PA 54 follows SR 2035, SR 0901, SR 2042, SR 3002, and SR
4028 from Strong to Ashland rather than SR 0054. Reason: PA 54 was
relocated between Strong and Ashland. The route once followed PA 61.

- PA 54/PA 901 duplex is SR 0901 instead of SR 0054. Reason:
PA 54 was relocated between Strong and Ashland. The route once followed

PennDOT maps show the renumbering of these SR numbers to match the
signed number: PA 54 and PA 54/901 are SR 0054, and PA 901 is SR 0901.
- PA 61 is SR 0054 from JCT PA 54 in Strong to JCT PA 54 in
western Ashland. PA 54 does not follow SR 0054 in this segment. Reason:
PA 54 and PA 61 used to be duplexed from Strong to Ashland. See PA
54/PA 61.
- PA 61 follows SR 2002 south of Centralia. Reason: Portions
of SR 0054 (Old PA 54/Old PA 61) sank due to underground coal fires
near Centralia. SR 2002 has been improved as a permanent bypass of
the dilapidated segment. See PA
54/PA 61. Update: 2003 PennDOT maps show that PA 61 is now SR
0061 rather than SR 0054 except for the Byrnesville bypass (SR 2002).
- PA 61/PA 147 is SR 0147 rather than SR 0061 in Sunbury. Reason:
PA 61 was extended along PA 147 and the Veteran's Memorial Bridge
across the Susquehanna River to end at the US 11/US 15 interchange
when the bridge and interchange were completed. See also PA

- Business PA 66/PA 130(W) is SR 0066 rather than SR 0130.
Reason: When PA 66 was relocated as PA Turnpike 66 west of Greensburg,
the SR 0066 designation was left to the old PA 66, which was designated
Business PA 66.
- PA 86 is SR 0886. Reason: SR 0086 is used for I-86.
- PA 88 no longer follows SR 0088 south of US 40 and east of
PA 43. Reason: PA 88 was relocated to follow US 40 and PA 43.
- I-99 and PA 99 are both SR 0099.
- PA 130(W) is SR 0066/Business PA 66 and PA 130(E)
is SR 4001 and SR 3026 in Greensburg. Reason: PA 130 was split to
two street routes through Greensburg, westbound duplexed with Business
PA 66 (formerly PA 66) and eastbound routed alone.
- PA 147/PA 61 is SR 0147 rather than SR 0061 in Sunbury. Reason:
PA 61 was extended along PA 147 and the Veteran's Memorial Bridge
across the Susquehanna River to end at the US 11/US 15 interchange
when the bridge and interchange were completed. See also PA

- US 202 leaves SR 0202 in northern New Hope. Reason: US 202
was realigned to meet the Delaware River bridge north of New Hope.
The Old US 202 keeps the SR 0202 designation.
- US 220 follows SR 0322 and SR 6026 from US 322 in Port Matilda
to I-80, while Alternate US 220 follows SR 0220 from US 322
to I-80. Reason: US 220 was relocated onto the new expressway that
parallels PA 26, and old US 220 became Alternate US 220. When I-99
is signed on this expressway by 2007, SR 6026 will probably be changed
to SR 0099 and SR 0220 to SR 3040 or SR 3220.
- PA 283 is SR 0300. Reason: SR 0283 is used for I-283.
- PA 291 follows SR 3003/26th Street south of I-76 Exit 348[44]
to SR 0291. Reason: PA 291 previously must have extended from the
SR 3003 intersection up current PA 611 to the city square at PA 3.
- PA 380 is SR 0400. Reason: SR 0380 is used for I-380.
- PA 415 is SR 1415 on the east shore of Harvey's Lake. Reason:
the east shore routing is shorter than the west shore routing, which
is SR 0415.
- US 422 has two sections, and each is SR 0422. Reason: The
two segments of US 422 were never connected. If a secret designation
is given to US 322 (Hershey to Lewistown), US 22 (Lewistown to Ebensburg),
and US 219 (Ebensburg), then the violation is removed. Duplexes of
two US routes are labeled by the lower number, and so a connecting
SR 0422 designation is not required to avoid a duplicated SR designation.
- PA 581/US 11 is SR 0581 rather than SR 0011. Reason: PA 581
is an expressway that may be waiting for an upgrade to I-581 status,
in which case SR 0581 would be the correct designation. See also US
11/PA 581.
- PA 611 follows SR 0291 from the downtown city square (where
PA 611 meets PA 3) to SR 2001/Oregon Ave. Reason: PA 291 must have
been realigned to its current routing along SR 3003/25th Street.
- I-676 leaves SR 0676 to join SR 2005 and cross the Benjamin
Franklin Bridge to New Jersey. SR 0676 connects instead with an interchange
at I-95.
- PA 901/PA 54 duplex is SR 0901 instead of SR 0054. Reason:
PA 54 was relocated between Strong and Ashland. The route once followed
PA 61. See PA 54/PA 61 and

- SR 2676 Philadelphia Co.: Frontage road on both sides of I-676/US
30 in Philadelphia.
- SR 3006 Erie Co.: US 6N.
- SR 3006 Wyoming Co.: Business US 6 (Tunkhannock).
- SR 3019 Fayette Co.: Old US 119 from downtown Uniontown southward
to PA 43/US 119 interchange.
- SR 3056 Indiana Co.: Old PA 56. PA 56 was relocated to the US 422
expressway.
- SR 3095 Philadelphia Co.: Frontage road on both sides of I-95 southwest
of Philadelphia.
- SR 3100 Chester Co.: Old PA 100 south of the US 30-US 202 connector.
