The US 11/US 15 Susquehanna Trail
Duncannon to Camp Hill
South of Duncannon, US 11/US 15 loses
its flare as the major arterial highway, and lapses into miles of a windy,
narrow, slow, two-lane road through Marysville. Soon the Trail meets I-81,
and from there and south into Camp Hill, US 11/US 15 is congested and
has four-lane sections.

Southbound US 11/US 15 at the south end of the Duncannon Bypass. US 11/US
15 narrows to a two lane road that is often congested.

US 11/US 15 still rides the mountainsides along the Susquehanna River.
Here is the scene near the village of Cove.

In Marysville, US 11/US 15 meets PA 850 at its east end.

US 11/US 15 widens again to a four-lane, divided highway at the interchange
with I-81 south of Marysville. In case there is any confusion, oversized
route markers point straight ahead to continue on US 11/US 15.

The I-81 & US 11/US 15 interchange is a full cloverleaf. After US
11/US 15 passes over I-81, the second, northbound exit is reached.

Here is the view of the cloverleaf interchange from I-81 northbound.
I-81 has collector/distributor lanes to make the interchange safer.

Dan Moraseski 9/02/02
The single exit handles US 11/US 15 for both directions. Once off the
mainline, that lane splits into the two exit ramps for the two directions
of US 11/US 15.

Dan Moraseski 9/02/02
The exit ramps are separated from the mainline. US 11/US 15 passes over
I-81 on the overpass.

Timothy Reichard 8/19/02
South of I-81, US 11/US 15 slows to 35 miles per hour and narrows again
to two lanes through Enola and West Fairview. PA 944 then ends at US 11/US
15.

Timothy Reichard 8/19/02
US 11/US 15 widens to four lanes in Camp Hill. This is the congested
merger of the Camp Hill Bypass/Harvey Taylor Bridge and US 11/US 15.

Timothy Reichard 8/19/02
US 11/US 15 curves to the south for its last, congested stretch as a
duplex.

Timothy Reichard 8/19/02
Before US 11 and US 15 split, yet another state route (PA 641) marks
its eastern terminus point along the highway.

Timothy Reichard 8/19/02
After some 58 miles of sharing the same roadway, US
11 and US 15 split on the south side of Camp Hill. US 11 exits onto
the PA 581 Capitol Beltway, while US 15 continues south on a freeway past
the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
