Entrance at the New Jersey/Pennsylvania state line
Douglas Kerr 7/13/03Southbound on US 1 at the entrance from New Jersey to Pennsylvania. US 1 is an old expressway here. The first interchange in Pennsylvania is for Pennsylvania Avenue, which leads to PA 32 and the Old Bristol Pike (Old US 13) in Morrisville.

US 1 used to follow Bridge Street through Morrisville, PA as the approach to the New Jersey line.

Northbound on US 1 at the Mason Dixon Line, which serves as the border between Pennsylvania and Maryland. US 1 is a two-lane road in Maryland and a four-lane expressway in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania's welcome sign is posted here at the pavement change as the road widens and divides. The first right turn in Pennsylvania is in the distance in this photo and leads to the old US 1 from before the Rising Sun, MD bypass was built decades ago.
