Business US 6 was designated and signed in two phases as the new
US 6/Lackawanna Valley Industrial Highway freeway was completed in
1996-97. The business route follows the old US 6 from Dickson City
on the northeast side of Scranton to east of Carbondale. Business
US 6 is named both the Roosevelt Highway and the Scranton-Carbondale

in Childs, and Eighth Avenue, Main Street, and Canaan Street in Carbondale.
