A Brief History

The US 15 Mansfield bypass was completed in 1987 to reroute US 15 traffic around Mansfield. The old route, Main Street, was designated Business US 15, and this designation is expected to remain even after adjacent sections of US 15 are upgraded to become I-99/US 15.

Southbound on US 15 north of Mansfield at the nearly completed interchange for Business US 15. US 15 is undergoing significant changes as the route is upgraded piece by piece to interstate standards. The Business US 15 interchange is being rebuilt as part of the upgrade of Mansfield's piece of US 15 from a super-2 expressway to a full four-lane interstate freeway.
