A Brief History
Business US 22 was designated along the former US 22 through Monroeville. When present-day I-376 (Penn-Lincoln Parkway) was built in the 1950s and early 1960s, US 22 was moved to follow the interstate, and the business route designation took over. Business US 22 ties into I-376/US 22 at Exit 10B in Churchill and Exit 15 in Monroeville. Locally, the business route is known as the William Penn Highway along its entire length.

Denny Pine 2003Westbound on US 22 at the interchange with Business US 22 and I-376. US 22 joins the I-376 Parkway East freeway, while Business US 22 begins and takes over the old route, the William Penn Highway.
