Historic Northern End, US 206, south of Milford

Southern End, PA 147, Millersburg

US 209 ends in Millersburg at a state route, PA 147. The last few feet of US 209 split around half of a town square (the other half might have existed if Millersburg were not bounded by the Susquehanna River).

Historic Southern End, US 22/US 322, north of Speeceville

US routes usually end at another US route or at an Interstate highway, and US 209 once did. PA 147 was once called US 111 and later US 15 (and even PA 14 for a while), and US 209 once extended further south to US 22/US 322 here. The old intersection is now an interchange because US 22/US 322 has been upgraded to an expressway from here to Harrisburg. PA 147 takes up the old route to meet US 209 in Millerstown today.
