At over forty years old, Business US 209 is one of the older business
routes in Pennsylvania. US 209 follows the I-80 bypass of Stroudsburg
and the PA 33 expressway to the south, both completed in the early
1960s. Business US 209 takes over US 209's old route through East
Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg. In those towns, the business route runs
concurrently with PA 611, PA 191, and PA 447.
