Business US 219 is one of the newer business routes to be signed
in Pennsylvania. The route was US 219 through Meyersdale until the
new US 219 bypass was completed in 1999. The Casselman River parallels
the northern part of the business route, which then runs southward
into Meyersdale on Grant Street and Beachley Street. There are plans
to extend the US 219 freeway bypass north to the next freeway segment
and south to I-68/US 40, making an extended Business US 219 a possibility.

Like its northern end, Business US 219 is not explicitly signed along
US 219. The Meyersdale exit leads straight to Business US 219, which
serves Meyersdale.
