	A Brief History

Truck US 220 is signed southbound-only along Vocke Road (unsigned MD 658) and MD 53 (Winchester Road) south of I-68 on the west side of Cumberland. The truck route avoids the hilly and curve section of US 220 just south of I-68 and provides a more direct route for truck heading to US 220 south.

I-68/US 40 eastbound heading toward Cumberland. Before US 220 joins at Exit 42, trucks are given a shortcut route to US 220 south. The truck route runs southbound only, beginning on Vocke Road, which is unsigned MD 658. Vocke Road leads to MD 53, which Truck US 220 joins.
