	A Brief History

Like the other Business US 422 in Indiana, Kittanning, and Reading, New Castle's business route follows the old US 422 routing through New Castle. US 422 and PA 60 form a southern bypass to the town, and Business US 422 connects to it at both ends. In between, Business US 422 is known locally as Butler Avenue (east of town), Taylor Street (in town), Neal Street (in town), Jefferson Street (in town), Falls Street (in town), and Sampson Street (northwest of town).
